Summer of ServiceAmeriCorps Part-time Volunteers Needed for Treasure Valley Accessible Transportation NetworkStudents with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply

Benefits: $1250 educational award at the completion of 450 hours of service; can be used to fund educational expenses or repay student loans. (hours of serice must be accumulated by the end of Aug. 2009) 

Work experience and a professional reference for future employmentGain new skills and work with a team of other AmeriCorps members for the summerThe opportunity to contribute to your community in a meaningful way and make a differencePolish your leadership abilities and build a resume Participant Duties:In coordination with Project Director and Team Leader the part time member will:attend and participate in team meetings once a week; 

work with the team to create a 3 month plan for the summer of service;

organize and complete a summer project promoting public transportation to include an event and/or possibly video production;

work with the media to gain publicity coverage for project and

assist Team Leader to keep a visual record of project activities to produce a final PowerPoint presentation of the project as a whole and summer of service activities

The HCS Foundation Internship Program: 

The HCS Foundation Internship Program is currently seeking applicants for internships at cultural arts institutions around the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. HSC Interns will enjoy close working relationships with experienced theater and museum professionals, hands-on training, and the opportunity to be a part of some of the D.C. area's busiest and most artistically diverse museums, theaters, and performing arts centers.

Internships will be between 10 and 40 hours per week for a minimum of 8 weeks. Qualified applicants will be between the ages of 18 and 25, have a documented disability or chronic illness, and demonstrate an interest in the arts. All HSC interns will receive a stipend.
