Accommodations

Steps to organizing accommodations:

1. Provide the DRC with current documentation from a qualified source. See Documentation Guidelines for requirements and details.

2. Students must meet with the DRC each semester that accommodations are required.

3. At the time of your meeting, bring updated documentation (if necessary) and your class schedule. We will create your accommodation letters during the visit.

4. It is your responsibility to meet with your professors to discuss your accommodations and we strongly suggest that you meet during an office hour or scheduled appointment.

5. Accommodations begin after you meet with your professor and are not retroactive. It is important to request accommodations as early in the semester as possible. (We strongly encourage that those students with a diagnosed disability request their accommodation letters within the beginning of the first two weeks of the semester).

6. If applicable, return the Verification of Testing Accommodations form to the DRC. This form must be turned in before you can schedule your tests in the DRC.

7. If the DRC is proctoring your tests, you must schedule at least 3 days in advance. Tests should be started at the time the rest of the class is to start. If you receive extended test time and your accommodation will interfere with your other classes, or if you were unable to take the test at a previously scheduled time, you will need to pick up an Exam Reschedule Form at the DRC . You must return the completed and signed form before rescheduling your test.

8. Stay in contact with the DRC. Let us know immediately if you feel you need to adjust your accommodations.
